Next ride: June 14, 2020 Fort Valley Loop

Henry F has mapped out a winning route!

It's an approximately 250 mile day-ride starting in Montgomery County and passing through Waterford, Sperryville, Thornton Gap and Fort Valley. It's over 5 hours of riding. We will stay off the highways in favor of the scenic and sometimes challenging back roads this area has to offer. Some of the highlights will be White's Ferry, Crest Hill Rd, Route 211, Camp Roosevelt Rd, Fort Valley Rd and Blue Ridge Mountain Rd. There will be a stop for gas and/or pit stop every 90 minutes or so. This is not a ride for inexperienced motorcyclists or road racers. Expect a brisk but sane pace, with the leader waiting for all riders at each turn.

No restaurant, you must pack your own picnic lunch.

  • 7:30 - 8:00 am: Meet at the Shell station at 1250 W. Montgomery Ave, Rockville. Kickstands up at 8:00.
  • 9:30 - 9:45 am: Meet with NoVA riders at the Dunkin' Donuts at 1200 Wolf Rock Dr, Purcellville (intersection of Main St and Berlin Tpk). Kickstands up at 9:45 am.
  • Noon - 12:30 pm: Picnic along the side of the road. Sorry but the recreation areas will be closed. Pack your own lunch!

Please have a full tank of gas and be ready to roll from each location on time.
