I should add that I was really just looking for conspicuity. I rarely ride that bike at night. It's just a commuter and around town bike. Maybe at night if I rode into Baltimore for dinner or something. But I live in an urban (well lit) area and really only ride around urban (well lit) areas on it so no real need for additional lighting for ME to see. Just for OTHERS to see me!

On the GS though... HID's, motolights (have the brighter bulbs, just haven't put them in) and a set of the cheapo WalMart lights)

Conspicuity, in spades. This photo from Jerry's Web site doesn't begin to show how bright they are, but they're not focused like a PIAA, for example, and, I think, wouldn't add much to forward illumination. From where you sit, you could probably see an amber glow.

That's a good way of describing it: amber glow that projects maybe 10-15 ft.

Jerry did an awesome job installing mine...in the front and back. Love them! I get comments from other riders all the time. Now, just waiting on his next invention.

...they were the best investment I've made on my bike. I receive so many comments regarding both the front and rear lights. I have no vested interest, but I can tell you, whatever Jerry invents next will see itself on my bike.

Okay, back to the P3's. I am 90% sure I saw a set on one of those big scooters on I-81 on Sunday. He was coming up as I was getting onto the freeway and I never did get to see him up close (slowpoke :) ) Looked like the rider was wearing a hi viz 'stich jacket. They were very noticable to me. We need to remember that stuff that's noticable to US may not be to others. There's people who pull out in front of FIRE ENGINES with lights and sirens a blaring because "I just didn't see him!" They aren't going to see you NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!
