It appears to be the Reviews title to this forum that is attracting the idiots. Maybe if we change the name it will help?

Perhaps, got any good ideas. "Opinions" would probably attract more. How about "Product Evaluations"?

The best solution is to require that new accounts be approved by moderators before being allowed to post. That'll put an end to the drive-bys.

There are measures to prevent the casual sign-up and post, but the requirement to have someone approved by an admin is just too labor intensive/slow, so we decided long ago.

These are obviously bots with the keys to bypass the usual measures, but they seem to key on the titles, which is why the name change.

Reviews is getting a lot of attention from the spam bots. A little while ago it was the Govenment Affairs forum that was being hit hard. Now, almost nothing. Go figure
