Dunlop Roadsmart tires

My last go around with tires I was looking at the dual compund tires like the Road Pilot2. Dunlop (at the time) just announced their RoadSmart dual compund tire which was a lot less expensive than the Michelins so I gave them a shot. I was really impressed with the grip, real sticky on the two outer two thirds. Wet weather traction was not an issue and I never really got to test them in the snow.

The front tire wore out a little quicker than I had expected but not the worst I've mileage seen. The rear is still on there and pretty much in need of replacement. I was going to switch back to the Metzeler Z6 tires since they gave me the best mileage and I didn't see any adverse handling characteristics.

Cool info to keep in mind. I finally changed my front tire this summer and was forced to change my rear due to a screw earlier this year. Three years of wear.

I changed my rear RoadSmart today - I noticed steel cords showing through on Friday. End result: I rode just over 10,000 miles on this rear tire and it never gave me a feeling that it was going to let go (in rain/dry/hot/cold).

Anyone have any good or bad results from Bridgstone BT-021's? Compairing prices, they look to be the "low cost" tire. Have been running BT-45's on a K75 for years with great results.

no but my typical unsolicited opinion is to go with the Pilot Road II - they are awesome tires!!! I usually get around 13K - 15K out of a set!

I ran thru a couple of sets of BT-021's on my R1100RS. I loved the turn-in feel during the summer, but they just never felt as secure in the cold or wet as the Z6's I ran before. The front tire was also VERY prone to cupping. So if you tend not to ride in bad weather, and you're anal-retentive about tire pressure, I think you'd be happy with them. I went back to the Z6's, and I'm happier now.
