I just recently got a 2007 R1200GS with about 34K on it and it runs great. But yesterday I was moving the bike in the garage when I hear a soft thump and all of a sudden the clutch lever was frozen it would not budge. So when I started troubleshooting I notice the clutch cable was very loose. What I saw was the clutch release cylinder was just hanging there no blots in it at all !
So I found two bolts that were the right size but the bike on the centerstand got down on the floor and found one broken bolt head. (ah sh*t) I managed to get one blot in straight and tighten down so the clutch works again but the other side had the rest of the old bolt inside. I guess it had had only one bolt in it for a while.
I have never tried to remove a snapped of bolt from the back of a engine and I am not sure how much stuff I will need to remove in order to get a clean shot at it. I would appreciate any input on the best way to get the bolt out without ruining the threads . here is a picture of the unit out of the Haynes manual
thanks for your time
