First Scooter, not my first project.

LONG Friday drive down to Charlottesville to pick it up. Only about 250 miles, but took all day! :P

1981 Vespa PX125/200.

The little BMW took it in stride and still got 27 MPG unloaded, and 23 MPG loaded.

Got it home and took some baseline photos.

Need to figure out what goes here, other than the horn and the horn cast cover:

I know gas is getting expensive but a scooter? You are a brave man. :-)

Jim,

That looks like quite a project, all right. But I suspect a little JVB TLC will have it shiny and running in no time.

Is the parts supply pretty decent, or will you have to brush up on your Italian and start ordering from overseas?

I'll look forward to periodic updates!

Rick

Since it is a PX125X with a PX200 motor, semi-mod I think.

Finally sold my last project, so have room to start on this one.

Removed the leg protector trim and banged the parts back close to original. Looks a bit better. Put blade connectors on the wires, only to realize that the OEM connectors are smaller than standard, so I ordered new ones in the right size.

Ready to make a substantial order for parts.

HOLY S%*T, Jim!

Hope they paid U to take it out of their sight!
That should keep U occupied for quite awhile {if just waiting for FedEx deliveries}!

Just got back from the AlaBeemers' Chicken Rally in Dunlap, TN.
Good Food, Good Friends, and dry weather & splendid country roads (but a tad hot).
What else would you expect on Memorial Day Weekend!
More to come, particularly to\from Lebanon, TN!

I am sorry but that is not a scooter. That is a Vespa. Vespa is not a scooter and if you say it is while you travel though Italy, someone will kill you. Scooters have a variomat transmission and no gearbox.

Um, if you say so, but it is certainly considered a scooter here in the US.

Nothing new on the Vespa, too much work/travel on my BMW bike and car.

But I did receive a model of it in the mail. It is not too bad, and I may repaint it when I redo the project. It fits in with the other models of cars and bikes I have owned, or own.

The two mini Vespas I have were gifts from my daughter many years ago.
