Memphis Bound!!! But not quite yet (next summer)

Postby RocketMan » Sun Dec 20, 2020 1:24 pm

Well, it looks like Jeanne and I will be moving out of the area at some point next summer. Jeaanne is finally going to retire and I've been retired now for4 plus years so....It seems we are Memphis bound!
Why Memphis you ask, well its basically that
A: we can get twice the house for half the price as opposed to hanging around here
B: Her bro lives there and he is now the last surviving member of her immediate family since the parting of her Dad, and
C: cause wherever she goes, I go! :-)
While I will miss the Blue Ridge and will have to adjust to much flatter terrain in the surrounding area of my new residence, it will (hopefully) open up new areas (west of the Mississippi) to explore that have been a bit out of reach for me.
So now begins the process of going thru 20 Plus years of accumulate crap we've collected and deciding what gets tossed and what to keep. I'm going thru my camping equipment and I've decided to toss out/give away/ a lot of what I've gathered over the years. I've got a box of stuff to give away, mostly cook kits, three perkaltor coffee pots, a nice very compact camp stove suitable for moto camping, a colman three man tent and three folding canvas chairs with carry bag. First come, first served. PM me if intertested.

Good Luck on your transition to TN next year, Jeff!

Hope you’ll find a suitable home for all your various hobbies. Tis a relief to get resettled away from the horrid traffic up yonder, and your $$ will go farther... We can commute across HSV on a Friday night in 15 minutes to meet up with either of our two m/c clubs: the AlaBeemers (#5 in MOA list), and the eclectic but very friendly NAVMC >> https://www.facebook.com/groups/NorthAlabamaVintageMotorcycleClub/ <<. Looks like you’ll get to mingle with the appropriately named BMW Road Animals Touring Society, #297, over in Jonesboro, AR!

HSV is along your SE glide path toward Leeds, AL, and the Vintage Days gathering each October at the tremendous Barber Motorsport Museum - that's probably your cuppa indeed! {We had our tickets but it was cancelled this year due to covid.} Camping and mingling with many Vintage fanatics is sure to please; add this festival to your Bucket list; 8-10 Oct 2021. >> https://www.barbermuseum.org/barber-vintage-festival/ <<

Happy & Safe Christmas wishes from Team Ager in Rocket City, Alabama!
Home to the Thursday nite Oktoberfest Bier Garden throughout the summer!

We'll miss you, Rocketman.

Although you will miss the Blue Ridge, Arkansas is just across the river. There is some great riding in that state.

My wife wants to move to Pennsylvania. Eventually...
