Agenda:
Reg and Gigi Pridmore will return this September to VIRginia International Raceway for their CLASS Rides school. I took it last September and had a breakthrough in smoothness and control through the curves. It's an expensive school but the venue is like a premium country club and the ride down to VIR in Southern Virginia can be loads of fun if you follow the Blue Ridge. Even though it's more than 7 months away, Reg said, "We are about 2/3 full at this point but that means there's plenty of space for more."
We have also been able to get a tentative reservation for Camp West Mar for our usually dates of the first full weekend after memorial day, i.e. June 4-6, 2021. While this is tentative depending on the COVID situation in June, we will move forward with planning. Keep a look our for an upcoming planning meeting which will most likely be via ZOOM call.
After breakfast at the Vienna Inn, we did some parking lot practice before winding through back roads to get out of DC's suburbs. Near Oatlands, we found newly paved Lime Kiln Rd and wandered past horse estates to Middleburg, VA. After a coffee from Cuppa Giddy Up, we rode some dirt roads through Bull Run Valley and ending the ride at Manassas National Battlefield.
Don’t like shopping? Go for a ride. Join us as we explore more unpaved/gravel roads of Northern VA. This ride is primarily for GS/off road MCs, but adventurous road riders are welcome.
The route has been selected using the VDOT Unpaved Roads web site.

How about an easy day ride to include the back roads of Carroll County, Eyler’s Valley, High Rock and South Mountain, with a brief cross into Loudon County on the return? Total distance will be in the 175 mile range (give or take), with rest/gas/food stops every 1 to 1 1/2hours. We will definitely stop to take in the gorgeous view of the valley from High Rock and maybe stop for coffee or ice cream down the road somewhere.

Bottom line is that it is a secure mount for your phone that will not push the buttons on the side and allow you to place and remove the phone with one hand.
Fourteen riders explored the unpaved/gravel roads on September 19, 2020 and had a ton of fun. We broke up into three groups and explored the areas west of Haymarket between Rt 55 and Snickersville Turnpike. The route has been selected using the VDOT Unpaved Roads web site.

One group missed a turn and found a water crossing. Check out the YouTube videos.
After hearing of the fun the one group had, several others went back to find the crossing and get wet.
