Welcome to the BMW Bikers of Metropolitan Washington! We are among the largest BMW motorcycle clubs in the US. We emphasize camaraderie, rider education and safety, ride explorations/rallies. We enjoy riding the wonderful roads in the Mid-Atlantic region, as well as, places more distant. We have a great enthusiasm for all aspects of motorcycling and would love to share this with fellow motorcyclists.

High Rock/South Mountain, Maryland Ride - Sat, Oct 10

High Rock/South Mountain, Maryland
Saturday, October 10th
https://www.meetup.com/BMW-Bikers-of-Metropolitan-Washington/events/2737...

How about an easy day ride to include the back roads of Carroll County, Eyler’s Valley, High Rock and South Mountain, with a brief cross into Loudon County on the return? Total distance will be in the 175 mile range (give or take), with rest/gas/food stops every 1 to 1 1/2hours. We will definitely stop to take in the gorgeous view of the valley from High Rock and maybe stop for coffee or ice cream down the road somewhere.

Review of a Wireless Charging Phone Holder

Review of the RAM® Quick-Grip™ Waterproof Wireless Charging Holder
Part#: RAM-HOL-UN14WB UPC: 793442009273 Patented & Pats. Pend.

Bottom line is that it is a secure mount for your phone that will not push the buttons on the side and allow you to place and remove the phone with one hand.

Dirt Riders Rinse Off in a River Crossing

Fourteen riders explored the unpaved/gravel roads on September 19, 2020 and had a ton of fun. We broke up into three groups and explored the areas west of Haymarket between Rt 55 and Snickersville Turnpike. The route has been selected using the VDOT Unpaved Roads web site.

One group missed a turn and found a water crossing. Check out the YouTube videos.
After hearing of the fun the one group had, several others went back to find the crossing and get wet.

Flight 93 Memorial Ride July 11, 2020

Here is the route track and info about the Flight 93 ride that the club took in July. We found some great twisty roads in Virginia and Maryland.

Virtual Rally Campfire June 5 & 6 at 9:00 pm in Facebook Rooms

Just because the virus canceled our rally does not mean that we cannot sit around a camp fire, drink beer, and tell tall tales. I will host a virtual Tiki Bar on Facebook Messenger Friday and Saturday night at 9:00 pm. The link is https://msngr.com/Js2j2ehrha9ntnCK

We can talk about anything and moan about the great rallies that goes canceled. We can talk about the Fort Valley ride on the June 14. It filled up so quickly that we had to add more spots.

Next ride: June 14, 2020 Fort Valley Loop

Henry F has mapped out a winning route!

Fourth Sunday Breakfast Ride

Henry, Daria, Arnab, and Bruce met in Clifton. The Clifton Cafe was serving crepes and espresso for carry-out. We wore our masks and kept our distance in the parking lot while we ate. We met two other riders who asked to join but said they needed to get gas first. I don't know where they went to get it but after a half-hour, we guessed they got lost.
