You guys.

Not food, we're talking about a sauce made of vinegar and barely sub-lethal pepper, for putting on slow-cooked, smoked pork with a barely sub-lethal fat content.

Yeahbutt,..... you ever had DC's own chicken wing sandwhich smothered in sauce?

(which has absolutely nothing to do with BBQ, though you can get BBQ sauce if you so desire instead of the spicy sauce).

Just thought I throw that in for the hellofit.

Outback, huh? Any nationality that calls a grill a "barby" plainly doesn't get it. :P

Here's a sleeper I've found: Guapo's ribs are out of this world. Thats right Guapo's. Their chicken is good too, but the ribs are fantastic.

Either one I guess. I usually eat at the one on 28, but there is one in Manassas has the same cooking setup.
There also is one at Potomac Mills.

Worth a Try

Postby PhilAger on Thu Aug 17, 2006 10:08 pm

IMHO, I live down the road from a very good Q joint. The Smokeshack at ~9120 Livingston Rd. in Fort Washington has excellent ribs (if you get the Hot sauce)! N38 45.877 W76 59.704 -- Just up the street from HD of Fort Wash.

It's a carry out place, but people come from all over the area to do their carry outs (VA included)! It's well worth a try if you're in this county (in fact it's the best damn thing this county has to offer)! Only 2.5 miles below I-95 - just off Rt 210 - turn right at the Texaco. Closed on Mondays! You'll be as delighted as I often am.

Got some BBQ ribs at Hard Times last nite, nothing to write home about. I prefer their wings which are a good standy by. The best bbq I have had livinf in DC proper for 8 years was a small shack owned and operated by a family from North Carolina with a big pit outside that was shut down for fire code violations. But the ribs were heavenly.
