Dave
Looking forward to the tech day scheduled in Nov, I have purchased the parts from beemer boneyard to change rear drive oil and lube the drive shaft splines, additionally I would like to change the engine oil and if time allows adjust valves during the oil change if experienced help is available. I don't have feeler gauges for the valve check or the shims, If they require changing does anybody have a shim kit they could bring and of course I would purchase/exchange shims. After all that if the GS911 is available would like to see the new alignment procedures on the wet head. Oh and I have a set of carbon fiber dog ears to swap with the silver ones...

Guess You better get there early, Bub!

Sounds like a lot of technical work to me....

Cheers, Phil

P.S. I'm working on my new homestead in HSV. Just installed garage-door opener #2 today.

Hey Bob,

Beemer Boneyard = Great Customer Service, Supports/Donates to Jim's Tech Day and is a small business
6k mile oil change kits here: https://www.beemerboneyard.com/r1200wethead.html
12k maintenance kit without oil here: https://www.beemerboneyard.com/r1200wcmaintkit.html
and with oil here: https://www.beemerboneyard.com/r1200wcsmaintkit.html
Rear Drive Oil = no problem (Is part of the 12K kit)
Lube Shaft Spline = Interesting, I was talking to George about this topic after the club ride. Interested in learning more...
Engine Oil = Easy Peasy, I am guessing you bought the 12K Service pack from Beemer BoneYard too?
GS911 = Not sure if the Club has bought a new one yet, If Jim shows up hopefully he brings his so we can reset the idiot light.
Valves Check = You do know this will require a cold engine, I have a full set of feeler gauges, as for shims you would need ESP, and have already order them, I don't know about a shim kit. I just know you have to order specific ones. And without already knowing kind of hard to change.
Food for thought = JVB sells a great video that covers all the major stuff for TLC of our bikes. I have it and watch it each time prior to doing stuff.... also sold very cheaply https://www.beemerboneyard.com/madv.html
Dog Ears? = k,

Don't forget the small keg refrigerator and motorcycle lift for the traveler passing through. :-)

Dave
I also purchased Jims DVD and have watched it, my only complaint is he should have used my TB to show off how pretty the GS can be...
I'm going to bring the bike over in my trailer, plus if I break it I can haul it to the BMW store...
What was the tire brand and model you have on your GSA? I purchased a set of TKC-70s but have been rethinking my riding preferences and may sell those off and purchase more of a street tire.

Nope, I volunteer mine, :-) for the big screen. My bike has been on his lift a couple times and in front of the camera.

As for trailers, that means the oil is going to drain slow.

As far as tires... here you go. I am trying to hold off for the michelin 5 GTs but not out for the bike. I was told after the first of the year. I will vouch for the 4's year around, all weather (including flooded hi-ways).

I happen to know MOD matches on-line prices if you are in the neighborhood.

Bob,
I have a few different sized shims in stock. You won't need them but if you give me a call.

George to the rescue... :-) , but he is right, as new as your bike is it is highly doubtful you would need them Earlier I did a speed read and did not see the year of the bike.

I'd like to stop by.

I think Morton's is having something that day to regarding comms systems, so I might go there first because I need one. But you're just around the corner from me. Would be nice to finally meet.

As long as my 600 mi service doesn’t run long, I’ll swing by afterwards.
