650CS dead

Postby pajacobsen » Fri Jun 21, 2013 7:29 pm

My 650 CS is dead... I mean dead.

Battery got juice -- charger and outlet plug shows power, voltage drops when key is turned.

Everything else just d-e-a-d. No lights, no noise (including clicking,) no nothing.

Ideas?

P.S. All external fuses look good. Also, I see no voltage on the external fuse box....

Reminds me of when the battery in my K75 went bad. Would happily charge on the Battery Tender, stuff would light up as normal when the key was turned, hit the starter button and everything would go dead except for the RPM gauge which would slowly climb to 4k then slowly return. I could jump start it but hit the horn and it would immediately die. New battery fixed it.

Too bad battery bug was sued out of business!

Try load testing the battery or drop in a known good one and see what happens. It may have enough to show power but not enough to crank over. Low batteries sometimes do funny things to BMWs.
