Thanks for hosting. I'll be there to do my 48,000 mile maintenance. This week I need to watch Jim's videos and make sure I understand as much as I can. :)

I'll be there,

I went to BOBs yesterday and pulled all parts required for the 12K maintenance on the 2007 F650GS for my wife. The bill for the parts was staggering, I can only imagine why maintance costs so much, I never seem to look at how much parts cost. Fuel Filter, Brake Pads, Chain and Sprockets, Battery! Yikes!!

If anyone wants to see how the 12K maintenance works on a F650 GS 2007 type, I don't know much, but I know I have all the parts!

See everyone on Saturday!

I would have skipped on the fuel filter/pressure regulator. I have over 101,000 miles on my original. The brake pads are also most likely still good but we will check them.

I was browsing F650.com and found the new checklist,
http://www.bmw-f650.com/BMW%20recalls/F ... edule2.pdf

it says to change it every 24K miles, So the question is since I have it should I change it or should I take it back. Sooner or later my wife will hit the 24K mark. My guess it will happen by next year unless she upgrades. We still have my son's bike, but he'll be upgrading real soon. A 16 year old quickly outgrows a 650!

I'm gathering my fluids and parts and tools for the trip to North Beach. In the plastic bag with the 2 crush washers for the transmission filler and drain bolts are 2 O-rings. Cannot remember what they are for. Oh well, somebody there will know. I have the oil filter and oil plug crush washer, gear oil, engine oil, air filter. Still need to buy moly 60 paste, 16mm socket, and the nut that should not be reused after swinging down the rear drive to change the oil. Got to pack up the tools, watch the videos again, and double-check the check list.

Whew! Looking forward to Saturday. :)
