Less than a week to go! Weather forecasts are looking good for Kentucky and North Carolina. All we need to finalize is a place to stay Saturday night and we'll be good to go.

That is a good break with the weather. This should be fun. :)

It will be. The plans have come together really well and all that's left is to log in the miles.

The worst part I remember of my last ride was the run south to Nashville. My contacts were giving me fits and I was riding towards a setting sun. This time I have better contacts and I'm bringing eyedrops to use at each stop as a preventive measure.

Oh yeah, and I-40 through Arkansas was a horrible stretch of road. Thank goodness we're heading east this time.

We finished the Saddle Sore 1000 and the Bun Burner 1500 on Sunday! That was a looong ride. It was great riding with Ron and Kimo (y'all made it fun!). Here are a few shots from the trip:

Congrats you three! How were the conditions? I had a ton of wet riding this weekend and 10 ft viz through fog on Skyline yesterday morning.

We had rain all through West Virginia Saturday. Once in Kentucky, things started to improve and by the other end of KY, we had sunny and warm weather. Saturday night, running from Nashville to Knoxville was really nice with the full moon lighting everything up. Sunday morning hit patches of fog through the rest of TN and parts I-81 in VA.

All I have to say is small doses of sitting today. Just waiting for the feeling of vibrations in my hands and tail to subside! :twitching:

Big thanks to Andy and Kimo for joining me! That certainly made the ride far more enjoyable. =D>

The only really bad stretch of the ride was dealing with the rain from Lexington, VA to Huntington, WV. The sun came out as we hit Kentucky and turned really nice a bit east of Lexington, KY.

I split off from the group at the I-77/I-81 interchange Sunday morning and headed south the Ft. Bragg since I had meetings there starting Monday. It appears that we all logged in around 1560-1570 miles in about 35 1/2 hours, including a 7 hour stopover in Knoxville for some rest.

All that just to buy some booze.
