nice job, Stuart,
thanks!--I took a good look at my tires and brakes. The front tire needs to be replaced

So the question--up for discussion and not to start an argument

Right now, I'm running
Metzler Z6's--which I've been happy with. By the time I get to the dealer in a week or so, I'll have gotten nearly 9400 miles out of them, which isn't as bad as I thought. However, I'm still looking for the magic 10K off a front, so based on what I've read here--and after what Stuart said yesterday regarding mixing brands--I'm seriously
thinking of going to Michelin's Pilot Road 2's or 3's. But I'm willing to hear what others people's experiences are are for tires for an "RT-type" bike.
Thanks for your consideration.
Used to run Z6s, the new RT came with Pilot Roads and have NEVER regretted the change. Get about 10000 miles on them.
Z6s have trouble in the last with my front tire seeming to wash out on me in parking lots, and I lost a LOT of confidence in them.. Started riding VERY slow (ok, comparitively slow(er) in the rain, and just couldn't get myself to lean in a corner in the rain with them. TOTAL confidence in the Pilot Roads.
As far as buying, myself and several others were very loyal to SWMOTO tires, but this time around I thought their prices were too high. I found Bike Bandit to be considerably cheaper now than SWMOTO.
