Plan on lubing splines on my 2001 1150 GS. Is there a specific lube that is best to use. What rated heat gun is needed for the job - will a cheap 1500 watt unit work.
Thanks

But I have 2009 R1200GS and didn't need a heat gun to get at the lower splines, I don't know the procedure for a 1150 GS.

, you can pull the arm with the final drive attached & dispense with the heat gun.

Seriously, a few years back Paul Glaves in his MON tech column recommended mixing Honda Moly 60 in 1:1 ratio with Wurth Sig 3000 spline grease. I don't recall the specific rationale. Also, some riders advocate using Guard Dog's GD-525 Moly Grease. I'm not certain that (similar to engine oils, etc.) any one moly grease is all that superior to its competitors. Scott
