That's me... Trying to squeeze as much riding time as possible. I rode to see friends in Richmond on Saturday and I only saw one motorcycle (Harley) on the road - is it that cold already? My Gerbing's gloves and jacket were cranked only 1/2 way up so it wasn't that bad.

That's cool! You live close to the mall, that's way cool! What's the camel for? :D And didn't I see knobbies on it? How are they for a ride down to Richmond. :(

It makes things convenient plus being close to Cabin John Park is a big plus. The camel is a memory of my kibbutz in Israel. It was a small community where we all shared the vehicles and they were identified by this sticker (I'm not sharing this one though ;).

I got the knobbies the same week I came back from the GS academy in Greer, SC (http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set= ... 1724d6c9dc). I took my GS after that to the same challenging off-road spots I was riding with the Tourance tires and the difference was like night and day. I mostly ride pavement just to get to the off-road spots, so I will always be using knobbies from now on. They do wear faster than the others, and they are a bit bumpy. You feel it only when you come to a stop - It rides well on normal and highway speeds. When the roads are wet I have to reduce the lean angle more so than the Tourance, but I never felt compromised by this in any way. I know how much you "love" the GS look, and the knobbies even push the rugged look further - I LOVE my GS AKA Helga!

Saw a Silver 1600 GT or GTL this morning in the rain on 66 Eastbound. I think you took the Glebe Road Exit.

I was on the yellow R1200GSA with my wife.

A red F-bike, with panniers and a top box, parked in a MC parking spot with the driver (Red helmet) about to mount it...seen from my commuter bus window, in the vicinity of McPherson Square in downtown DC...

A nice blue K1200S on River Road heading to Potomac around 11:30 or so, yesterday (Sunday). Looked like a fun ride except for all of those darn bicycles on the road - that's just scary! :(

Exchanged waves :super: Friday 11/25 with a sweet looking blue RT heading west on MD 80 (Fingerboard rd) - I was east bound, having just come off I270 to get fuel at 7/11.

Saw a GS on 50 coming over the Bay Bridge (westbound) around 4:00 PM yesterday (Saturday). Two up, Vario cases and, I think, Skene P3's. I tried to look at the tag, but it was filthy, I think a VA vanity tag. Saw another yellow GS a few minutes later.

Exchanged waves with a blue K1200GT on I-370 - at about 1540 today - they were westbound just E of 270 and I eastbound on my grey R1200GS. Nice riding day, though it was a bit of a shame my schedule had me on the (albeit new ICC) slab.

Followed a very good rider on a R100R last Sunday on Halfway Road. Waved at two K1600 GT(GTL? couldn't tell) going the opposite way. Those two didn't wave back :( . Was a great day for a ride!

Today, VA 678 between rt. 55 and King's Crossing. I was riding north. Saw at a gas station a red F650 and a R100R Classic. Later a oilhead RT and a hexhead RT riding south.

A couple of easy things to help distinguish a GT from a GTL.

A GTL will have:

- A trunk
- chrome wings (the air inlet flaps right above the logo)
- Comes in only two colors: Mineral Silver and Dark Blue

A GT will have:

- NOT a trunk (though one could be ordered for it)
- black wings above the logo
- Comes in only two colors: Light Grey (will look white in bright sun) or Red.
