Okay, just so you know we aren't ignoring you and your questions and requests. Very good remembering about the title by the way. Outstanding !! Don't forget the "D".

Barb is working on the numbers as you read this and I am working on all the final stages and rules for posting.

We will have the rules done and be ready to answer your questions by the end of the week. We would like to send out by way of email any updates or changes so we need current email addresses for you. We found out last year that we had left out those that didn't get in the chat room and that just isn't fair.

So hang in there a couple more days and get your route numbers in order while we connive  on how to mess with your mind.

Enjoy
Ed

Thanks Ed and Barb.

I don't know if Barb conveyed the idea to replace the non-existent US-55 marker with a 55 MPH speed limit sign. Bob Henig suggested that semi-seriously at the meeting when Barb mentioned the lack of a US-55.

No, she didn't. I'm gonna give her a good beating here soon if she doesn't straighten up.

Sounds like a solution to the problem though. I will check it out with Barb and see what she thinks.

thanks for the update

No point, really. There may not be a US 55, but there are plenty of other route 55s which could be used.

Just throws up something different for everyone to try to find. Actually - Speed Limit signs for all the fives and tens would be interesting. I've seen 70 before but nothing higher.

We'd all have to ride to Canada, where the signs are in kph!

I have another question for whenever the questions get answered. Is an Alt or other variation for a route acceptable? Frinstance, Alt 11 or 11 E or Business 11. Or does it have to be just a plain 11?

Good question - I know Alt 40 up over South Mountain is one of my favorite local rides.

Yes, if you don't have traffic ahead of you :x . US ALT 40 on Braddock Mtn is 1/2 mile from my doorstep. Let me know the next time your'e riding in Frederick area - I can show you a few other roads with more sweepers and minimal traffic. Also a few mini Alpine-like back roads. Scott

:D Okay here we go. I'm having a hard time getting the nylon flags printed the way I want them. I may wind up just giving everyone a regular laminated number. I'm workin on it!!!

But I can at least send this along so you can see what the rules are. We hope you enjoy the ride this year and we will get the ID numbers to you ASAP.

But the superior barbecue (excuse me, chiba) is in NC! If we made NC one of the 5, we could eat lots of memorable barbecue. Anybody feel real attached to DE?

Ed, I am fine with a laminated number in place of flag.

Ditto :)

I thought of including NC in my what-is-the-5-state-area question, but thought maybe it was kinda far away from most of us for the purposes of a solid, well-thought-out question. Of course, my anti-meat bias showed, as I neglected the cravings you people get for bbq :D

A laminated number is fine, and if y'all care about DE, that's fine too. :P
