A Cool Hike

Stop and smell the roses, and while you're at it take a picture or two.

A Cool Hike

Great Falls Maryland, one of my favorite places to get away. Had a nice walk on Friday, and took a few cool photos.

Untouched.

This loop on the Billy Goat B trail along the Potomac River and C&O Canal is only about 3.5 miles, but we usually do Billy Goat B as well, for a near 6 mile hike.

Billy Goat A is much harder, though only about 4.5 miles.

Jim,

Great photos! I especially liked your shot of the great blue heron. It looks like you had a fun hike. And the "Billy Goat A" trail certainly appears to live up to its name. Maybe I'll try B first...

Thanks Rick! I wasn't sure what it was called.

Here is a better shot.

Billy Goat B or A are fairly easy trails. I have my doubts that Billy Goat A would be too hard for you.

Jim,

Let me get this straight: This is part of Billy Goat A that is a "fairly easy trail"? I doff my cap!

Also, great picture of the heron. (At least I'm pretty sure it's a great blue heron. I've never seen one that close up!)

Sorry, Billy Goat B and C are easy, that is Billy Goat A. It i reputed to be the hardest public trail in MD. It i supposed to take 4+ our. Dina and I usually do it in 2, at about 4.5 mile total.

Jim,

Thanks for the clarification. I still doff my cap that you've done this trail--and quickly at that!
