I rode 30 miles of it yesterday between Front Royal to 211 on my way to Fredericksburg. Amazingly, few people were taking advantage of the beautiful day and the free pass.
It's not just Skyline. All national parks are free this week to celebrate National Parks Week.

Actually, not that small a rally, if I can brag a bit. We handed out more than 600 free lunches, and we estimate the total crowd at 700+ attendees. Not a record for us, but a bit higher than the last year or so. I'll be putting up some photos on our website later this week, but here's a shot from one section of the parking lot:

We were thrilled with the turnout and with the business we did yesterday -- thanks to everyone for coming! It was very cool seeing some folks who hadn't visited in a while, and there were many, many new faces. We're happy to have all of you at our place for the party, and we hope we'll see you again this fall for Oktoberfest
