Bread's Excellent Adventure

Postby bread » Thu Jun 05, 2008 2:41 pm

Hey All!

I am about to hit the road for my long journey of self-discovery :D :D :D
..maybe all I will discover is a really sore bum!

The bike is loaded, and I should be driving away from the house in about 20 minutes.

I'm taking a trip on the little K75 for about 18 days, and 4000 miles.
It will be the longest trip I have ever taken -- on two or four wheels!
I'll go through NY, NJ, PA, OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, MN, IA, SD, NE,.. and then return by the same route. The excuse is a family reunion, to be held a few hours south of Mt. Rushmore on fathers day weekend. Several distant relatives are even flying in from Finland for this one. I'll be visiting other friends and family on the way. Should be fun!

I hope to update my blog on occasion, with status and pictures.

Gotta run!

Just be sure to plan your ride thru Chicago to avoid the rush hours of 5 - 10 am and 3 -7 pm. And be prepared for the uninformed to stare at you for wearing your helmet. Buen viaje. Scott

also be VERY aware of the tolls in Chicago area - they like to change the lanes at the last minute!!

Surely you can do more than 4k miles in 18 days. I do more than that by accident

Have a great trip Bread!

I didn't know you were a Finn. I can teach you a few phrases if you like (and don't already speak Finnish...)

My first real trip was to MN for a wedding. Walt and I had a really terrific time, as I am sure you will too!

Take lots of pictures and write it up for the BTS!

If you decide to stop in Chicago. Check out:

I know you're a Finn. There are Swedish in Finland as well. Great cinnamon buns!

Have a safe ride Tony! Maybe MK can prepare a special Scavenger Hunt list to keep you occupied on your travels! :) Better yet, get some state photo's for the state's contest.
