And Tigger, I think I may have already heard the story of your "harrowing tale of trying to take the BRC" but I will be sure to ask Jim again...

At this point - the story is legendary! If you really want all the dirty secrets, there is a thread entitled "Wish me luck!" All the details of that nightmare of biblical proportions is located there, saved to a server for all eternity.

What is with everyone and the darn graduations on "our" weekend. I've had several members tell me that. Well, then you MUST make it to Oktoberfest. Debauchery abounds... oops, did I say that out loud?

The name quite possibly originated from that post, Jim actually gave me the idea, he said he read it somewhere?? lol
As far as the names...I am the original Jim, my first name is James, and his middle name is James. He just doesn't like his first name!! Hopefully that will clear up some of the confusion??

Hey SlimJim: Mistakes are what help us learn. Keep up the good learning and take the BRC. I still hear my instructor's voice shouting "Look through the turn!" and I do exactly that. You seem to be doing quite well. When you get tired of crouching all the time, you guys are welcome to stop by and you can ride my lowered GS.

Thanks for the offer Yellow jacket, and I may take you up on it one day...but for the time being, I'll be glad to ride MY OWN 2 wheels!! I managed to get me a bike, I know it's not quite a BMW, but this bike will grow one day...LOL

I got a good deal on it and it's very clean, and an overall great ride for the buck!

A little more on my '93 CB750 Nighthawk, it runs great unfortunately it was dropped once and has a few dings in the tank, but other than that it is in excellent condition. I haven't had much chance to ride it due to the wet weather (my bro is hesitant to let me ride in the rain yet, which is alright with me). Hopefully one day this weekend I will reach my 1,000 mile mark, I am somewhere around 800 miles now, in just a few weeks of riding.

Nice bike! I hear stories of riders taking coast to coast trips on Honda 350's years ago. 750 is a big step up. Low maintenance too! I practiced on a Honda 400 for a year before getting on a Kawasaki 750. You are a quick learner.

When I first started street riding (early 70s) one of the highest performing bikes on the road was a Honda CB750. A few could outperform the CB, but they were quite a bit more costly. It was such a significant part of the evolution of post war bikes that "The Encyclopedia of the Motorcycle" (an excellent desk reference for people of our ilk BTW) features that bike on the front AND rear covers.
