The actual noise went like this: "tic TIC tap TAP knock KNOCK bang BANG BANG" Not a good series of noises to hear as you're zooming down I-40 at the start of the Cape Fear 1000 Mini-Rally. At 5:17 in the morning. 13 miles into the rally. As I thumbed the engine cutoff switch, I looked down at the instruments. Oil Pressure light is on. Crap! I coasted to a stop on the side of the road, got off the bike, and got out my flashlight. The problem was obvious, even in the dark. I called the Rallymaster, and he woke up Eddie James, who was helping with the rally, and happened to be trailering a bike to his home in Asheville. So Clifford got a ride back to Rally HQ.
In daylight, we got a better look at the problem. Can anybody tell me what's wrong with this picture:
