MD License Plate Brackets

Postby Inthpkt on Tue Sep 11, 2007 12:58 pm

Seems like the state of Maryland tried to make sure they were different from all other states when deciding what size to make motorcycle license plates. Holes for plate on bike don't match up with holes in plate. Nobody seems to have/make bracket to match. Help?

The top two holes should match up. That's all I use. Otherwise, apply a drill?

Right, the top two should match up. Having said that though, I had to finagle mine a bit

Yep, you'd think that they'd match but they don't. Off by about 1/2 inch on both sides. All the advise on tool usage is about what worked. I bent the crap out of the bracket that came with the bike so that the plate would fit. Looks fushiizzzle.........but it works for now.

What Dan neglected to mention is that he uses the reusable type so he doesn't have to waste a pair of perfectly good ties every few weeks. :P

I'm posting this using a blackberry so not sure its going to work. All the posts here are either helpful and/or funny. Under most circumstances I could have figured out that a few well used tools, silly putty, gum, duct tape and the like would have solved this problem without sequalea. However, I don't think its too much to expect from a manufacturer to be able to slap on a freakin' tag without going through 4 quarters of tackle football.
