2nd.

I have to say though, it is getting spendy. $5 each night for a bunk is new.

A price rise was inevitable. The Y charges much more than the American Legion (and in my view what they charge is commensurate with their improvements to the property.) Each bunkhouse that is open represents an additional charge.

Last year the club (i.e., member dues) subsidized the rally to the tune of $10 per attendee. For it to be sustainable we need to break even, or at least come close.

How much for the tasty microbrews? The registration said for an extra fee.

P.S. oh yea in!

Beer is cheap enough that I rarely spend all the tokens I get. Of course the cost will be figured out by the brewmeister, whoever that volunteer will be.

It's a big jump in price this year for the people in the bunkhouse. We should have raised the price slowly instead of holding on to the same low price year after year. Small increases are easier to accept. The price increase by the YMCA forces us to face the bottom line.

However, I still think it's a bargain compared to most rallies. The Twin Valley Rally costs $75 this year. The New Sweden 450 costs $55. Our rally costs $45 or $55 if you want a bed in the bunkhouse. It's not just the best rally around, it's a great value. 8)

I agree. It was always a great price, and the club usually did not break even. I have no problem with the price, it just caught me off guard.

Value, like beauty, is largely in the eye of the beholder, but...

The MOA rally in Des Moines, the member "early bird" price (valid in only February) is $55 pp. What do you get? Admission to the grounds, a chance to win fabulous door prizes, a spot to camp, and (maybe) a hot shower every day. No food, etc.

8000 attendees, and at least 100 vendors, plus live music and free motorcycles.

Again, it is worth it, just caught me off guard. I am sure I am not the only one.

This event is going to be another good excuse to test out my new gear (that I have not bought yet) for Des Moines. :-) Speaking of such I need to go shopping for a new tent and sleeping air cushion if anyone can recommend a good two-man four season tent. Or point me to some good articles to read reviews. Thanks in advance.

We're In!

As stated at Sat's meeting, Phil will pitch in at the Tiki Bar and/or Registration; spect Karen will too...

Can't wait for warmer temps and May & June to arrive. :)

We'll be setting up our new Time Out camper
(Chuck's Olde Camper) over near the stream and the pool... =D>

We've had good weather in the last couple of years; let's keep up the positive trend!

Ciao, P & K

Hey Bruce and Drew - hope you can put a T-shirt order button on the Webpage soon. Are you all still working on that?
