Is this a 1200 triple or the 4-cylinder I've been hearing about? The triples are phenomenal engines. I just put 2000 miles on a Tiger 1200 Explorer - mostly in pretty technical mountain riding. Torque is HUGE and flat at all revs; above 6000 rpm the bike takes flight. But, and there's always a but, the T12Exp is a heavy, heavy bike and notably so with side and top cases attached. There were hours where I was wishing I was on my 800R or the SMT. But it was a lovely bike in sweepers and on the autostrada. It handled beat-up, gravelly asphalt well, too. Scott

It will give the magazines fodder for comparison articles, and the sport-touring forums fodder for debate.

It can be done, but you gotta work at it. Best bet is to learn when the demo trailer is coming to town (if they still do that). Scott
