Gerbing microwire

Postby Blaster229 » Sun Oct 31, 2010 9:35 am

Not a long review. This jacket liner is much better. instead of a heating element looped throughout, the microwire is more of a uniform distribution. The HUGE plus is that the front of your arms on the sleeves are now covered. The "sheets of heat" warm up quick as well. Also, the collar is bigger which I thought would be a terrible nuisance. I wore it this morning with my aerostitch and was fine around the neck with my chinstrap fastened. no more of that single hot wire branding you.
If you were contemplating a new gerbing liner, go find the 200 smackers somewhere and buy it.

I totally agree. The new microwire makes it feel like a jacket-warm-all-over instead of the vertical strips of heat like in the older one.

+1 on the Gerbing microwire. The microwire works really well and the collar warms more evenly.

+1 on the microwire. The old one felt like it was made out of metal coat hangers all wadded up inside.

I've used the microwire this winter season, and one of the problems after using it daily is the plug won't stay connected and in the middle of my ride it comes undone. Does anyone else have this problem. I bought it in November, would it still be covered under warranty?

Its actually the controller to the bike adapter.

Redman, do you have the email of the Customer service that you contacted. It's getting into spring and if I don't do this now, I'll forget until it is too late.

Gerbings has a lifetime warranty on heating elements (electrical stuff).
You should definitely check it out.
Hopefully you bought it from an authorized dealer, instead of second hand.
