March Snow 2013

Stop and smell the roses, and while you're at it take a picture or two.

March Snow 2013

Postby RocketMan » Mon Apr 01, 2013 5:02 pm

Pics from the first of the Month and last weekend of March 2013.

On the first weekend I took the IT700 out to ride Skyline and catch some snow and icefall pics but the parkway was closed so I just stopped to take some pics at the top of 33 and then down to 340 and north. Some snow still in the valley until I got the town of Shenandoah right after which it was no more in evidence; guess the snow fall line had gone right through there. Nearly 300 miles that day. Both rides went from the 50's in the valleys down to 41 or so at the top.

The last 4 are from the last weekend of March, the parkway was open so I rode that and some of the low lands for around 240 miles total. h

You were in my neck of the woods. That's the old gas station at Montpelier, just south of the town of Orange :D

RM,

I'm glad you got out for both rides, and I enjoyed your pic's. This is my favorite. And I'm glad your bike didn't end up similarly encapsulated by ice!

I went for a drive in West Virginia over the last two days and was surprised to see how much snow there was at the higher elevations.
