Rescue a Confederate

Stop and smell the roses, and while you're at it take a picture or two.

Rescue a Confederate

Postby redman » Sun Apr 17, 2011 10:08 pm

Picked up a project this weekend. Sat was great for working in the garage.
Had been sitting out across the street from the bay for at least 4 years.
It is a work of art, dont know how someone could neglect the little guy.

Thanks Tim!
Some think it is a kind of a Harley but nothing Harley on the bike.
It is all custom components like the ISR brake systems with dual 6 piston calipers and 320mm dual rotors.
Have seen Ducati riders upgrade to that setup. The motor is a 120ci 150hp Merch special built for the Honda motorcycle design team. They were the original owners from Confederate. I bought it from the second owner, the paper trail came with the bike. 8)

Yep fun to ride and fun to wrench on but nothing like my K1200rs!

The Confederate has been rescued.
She has been taken apart, repared, cleaned up and is back together and running with no issues.
The suspension has been adjusted and floats down the road comfortably.
Very fun to ride as a second scoot but will never replace my KRS.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to
skydive twice.

Yes, do you know Dan?
My orig plan was to keep it to ride around town but found I like my KRS so much better.

Jody, Thanks. It was a fun project.

Hah, he has more toys than a 4 y/o. I have a good friend who lives a couple houses up from him. We sail together a lot and would stop-in to chat on our way to the dock.
