Route building apps?

Postby VANikonShooter » Thu Jun 04, 2015 3:13 pm

Is anyone familiar with an iPhone app for quickly building road trip routes?

Obviously Google can provide the quickest route on the interstates, but motorcyclists want the least efficient, most interesting or scenic?
In fact I'm sure I can figure out a way to use google to tailor something for me, but.

Just wondering.

Thanks,

Todd

I mostly use Furkot (https://trips.furkot.com/). It has some advanced capabilities for creating routes, finding food, fuel, sites of interest, places to sleep. I find it most useful for deliberately planning a route rather than simply finding the best (whether the shortest, curviest, most scenic, least paved, whatever) route from wherever you are at the moment to wherever it is you want to be.
It is a web app, not a smartphone app, so it will run in a browser including most mobile browsers, however I usually plan my route on a desktop and then export it directly to my favorite phone gps app before my ride.

I have tried the web version of this app. It looks promising and they have an Android and iOS app.
