A caution about VA Route 7 between Berryville and Round Hill

I commute between Winchester and Leesburg Virginia. I leave at Oh-Dark Thirty (05:30 AM) and wanted to bring this to the attention of any members who pass this way...

There is a speed bump type ridge developing in the east bound lanes very shortly after you leave the Berryville area on the way to the bridge over the Sesquehanna River that appears to have started around the time Virginia had it's earthquake and it seems to be growing with the change to colder weather.

I am sure you can see the "bump" across both lanes in the daylight, but in the morning before the sun comes up it can really surprise a bike rider because in the dark it is INVISIBLE to your headlights... and it will tighten your pucker power because you are leaning into a left turn when you go over it... :twitching: [-o<

Hit it fast enough (Speed limit is 55 but no MPH numbers given here to protect the guilty) and I am sure you could easily lift both wheels off the ground in the midst of your leaning turn. That would not be pleasant surprise I can assure you...

So if you pass this way in the dark, as they used to say on the TV Series "Hill Street Blues" ---- "Lets be careful out there!"

So did the earthquake move the Susquehanna river south as well?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
