VA & WV Rts 250, 220, and 33

I had read about parts of this ride and had driven other parts of it in my Jeep. So, yesterday I decided to go for a nice little senic ride on the bike. I rode from my house, close to Lake Anna, to Staunton to begain the true ride. I rode out Rt 250 to Monterey, some really nice twisties and views. From Monterey to turned up Rt 220 to Franklin WV and from there I headed back to VA using Rt 33. Up and over the mountains, twice, from Franklin back into VA and from Elkton over to Standardsville. From Standardsville I took Rt 230 back to Orange and home. It was a very nice ride, a mix of road types where you ride some twisties and checkout the speed limit signs on the straights.

250 and 33 are two of the great ones.

(BTW, we know a great B&B if you'd like to spend a leisurely weekend riding the exceptional roads around Monterey.)
2002 R1150RT, Silver
Silver, the "cool and aloof" color.
(Road & Track Vol. 56, No.2, p. 19)

1971 Triumph Bonneville, Gold
Gold, the "paying the restorer" color.
(Trust me.)
