Too bad Motorrad Corp just killed the WSBK team!

They've been progressing so well and building enthusiasm. This is disappointing.

Sure sounds like it. Too bad. I hope they retain Melandri and Haslam.

"The successes in this season show that the development work carried out has borne fruit. The BMW S 1000 RR is capable of achieving victories in the Superbike World Championship. This has been the achievement of Bernhard Gobmeier and his team. We will build on this platform in 2013."

Sounds like Honda when 46 rode there. The bike does all the work, the rider is an afterthought. That must be why Larry Pegram is tearing it up on a beemer in AMA racing. Oh wait, nevermind.....

Apparently Melandri (and Manu) are under contract and should have a ride on the Italia team, with the 2nd bike is up for grabs.

Well after this weekend, I hate to be the guy who signed off on that memo! Rumor is Ben Spies & Marco Melandri will be TEAM BMW!
