So how about that weather? Hot enough for everyone? I am being somewhat wishy-washy about doing the rally. I read the Void web site and it seems like fun. Never have done one. What's is it like from an actually experience point of view?

You'll have fun. The key is planning ahead of time, figuring out your route what you can and cannot achieve. We won't win, but you are welcome to work with my son(his first rally) and me on route planning. We are signed up for the 10 hour. I've had a blast doing 2 prior 24 hours and it is a lot of fun.

It *IS* fun. It's almost more fun if you don't win - no pressure :D

This is *almost* as good as some of the commentary during the 09 IBR! :D Awesome! Thanks for an after work laugh, Corey!

As for being on the fence, get off it! Sign up and do it. It's a fun crowd and a fun event. Sign up for the 10 hour and just take a stab at it. The only way to learn is to do it.

You'll get a list of locations ahead of time - a week IIRC. Then pick a few places/roads that looks like a nice ride, get some points, do some paperwork and chill out. You'll get a little taste and decide if you want to pursue more challenging ventures, or just have a nice ride and hang out with fellow bikers. There's only stress if you put it on yourself. Seriously!

Depending on interest, I might be willing to do a little newbie primer with a few folks. I don't have any secret rally intellegence, but I can share some experience and answer some questions. Post up here if folks are interested and we'll see what we can work out :)

No interest? Before the meeting at Bob's on Saturday, August 11th would work for me. Weather permitting, we could just sit outside Bob's. Weather not permitting, we could go to a nearby establishment, or maybe use a spot inside Bob's. It'd be nice if I were able to prepare a little in advance with some data to use :D Let me know.

Cool. I have some excellent educational materials. I'll fill you in with details shortly as to exact time and place. Is 9:30 AM too early for you?

Yeah, sorry it took me so long to finalize, just been busy. We're on for tomorrow, Saturday, August 11th at 9:30 AM.

We'll just meet in the parking lot area at Bob's. The weather looks like it'll be reasonable and we can just sit at one of the picnic tables or something. If it's raining, we'll find a corner inside.

Sorry I am going to miss this. I think it would have been valuable to me. But, a trip to Cozumel is just too much fun to pass up (not to mention, finally testing my diving skills). You guys have fun! I want to hear all about it when I get back. Thanks Nancy for putting this on for all of us! =D>

Thanks to Miss Kitty for the "Void for the mentally impaired" lecture she gave today at Bob's. Gave me some good ideas for Void planning. Always good to hear from the pros.
