I think it would give someone who is apprehensive, the feeling of being "closer to home" should something occur. A little safety net so to speak.

I'd have done this one due to the convenience factor, but I've got a prior engagement.

Did anyone do this? I think Mikey might be right, that a first timer who lives in the area might find this a bit less overwhelming. I've heard many people say that they were aprehensive about being so far from home.

I'm just curious how it played out :)

I did this ride with a group of friends from ADV. All went well and it was interesting doing the ride with friends. Link to write up over on ADV.

Two of us had previous LD experience. They unfortunately got nowhere near the 400+ riders needed for the record.
