Manassas Battlefield Meetup, Sat, 31Mar18.

Postby phil.ager » Wed Mar 28, 2018 10:44 am

HEY Y'ALL,
I'm initiating a meet-up for multiple purposes, but mainly because we like to ride and we like to eat! Just visited the Henry Hill Visitor Center https://www.nps.gov/mana/planyourvisit/index.htm blurb on the Manassas Battlefield's website. They will sell me/us a National Park Visitor's Passport for our New Year's Challenge to get a GOLD Iron Butt Certification {see IBR's website for their National Park Tour http://www.ironbutt.com/rides/npt.htm }. If you want to watch the Battlefield video, get there BEFORE 11am; if not, get to the visitor's center closer to 11:45 for a 'modest' group ride to the restaurant somewhere to the West on Route 50
{ http://www.huntersheadtavern.com }. After Chow, Some Folks Just Might Ride to a nearby establishment to Enjoy Their VIEW, etc.

See y'all soon!

It was a great ride today starting at the welcome center.

Mr. P choose some choice roads to enjoy some really great scenery to our first location. We had a great meal and even better conversations.

We also ran into another couple out for a ride today at the Tavern, nice silver with the top box on. I think it would fit two helmets.

Did you know the difference between an A7 and A8 is that an A7 did not have afterburners? "Sorry Ghost Rider the pattern is full".

The second spot was at a 1058ft elevation so we could, I think, see Tysons Corner from a wee bit of distance away. The view was awesome and the food smelled good here too. The conversations went from serving our country to touring Europe to a small island off of France to adapted puppies. Surely enjoy the time today and roads less travelled.

I hope all are enjoying the weekend.
