Breakfast Ride to Bob's Holiday Open House

Postby bdimon » Thu Dec 15, 2016 4:30 pm

I plan to go to Bob's Customer Appreciation Day this Saturday, so I wanted to have the third Saturday breakfast at Frank's Diner in Jessup for two reasons: it's close to Bob's (3 miles) and the weather will suck too bad to ride in the Catoctin Hills.

Now the weatherman is speaking all manners of nasty words like snow, freezing rain, and wintery mix.

Even if I have to drive a car, I heard good things about Frank's Diner so I'll be there around 10 am to eat. Afterwards, I'll drive a couple of miles to Bob's and enjoy their hospitality. I still have not been in their new museum.

Frank's Diner, 7395 Cedar Ave, Jessup, MD 20794

I enjoy your optimism.
If it's not too slippery, maybe I'll join you.

From what the weatherman said this morning, it will probably get postponed from breakfast to lunch. I'll decide tomorrow morning

Oh well, It's winter.

Bob's is delaying their opening until 11am, due to expected weather/road conditions.

Smart move. As of now, this has become a lunch run starting at Bob's. We will see who is at Bob's and go for a late lunch. Ah winter, you force us to be flexible.

Not sure where you're coming from with the question, but there is not a charge. They put out a decent spread including soups. :feedme2:

Did anyone make it to Bob's on Saturday?

Maybe he does things differently now. In the past he always charged for food. At least when I went. He did say it was going to charity, after expenses.

It may depend on the event. I have gone to several past holiday cheer events there, and there has never been a charge for food.

When he has the Blue Knights set up a tent at his other events (maybe swap meet or spring open house - I don't recall which it was) they do charge for food and supports their charity. It's been awhile, but that sounds right.
