I met the Clover's at the Cass Mt Rally in '09 (very nice people and bery nice rally, btw) and I picked up a set of these straps. I think they're great and the BMWBMW gang that attended the Sherando Rally later that year may remember all the stuff I had packed on the bike....and the wood I hauled... and the beer....

Anyway, the D rings are metal and the piggy back system works really well, I think they were on $20-25 bucks for some super heavy duty packing straps...
