For those who might be interested in packing stuff on their bikes! This is Jim Cover - he and his lovely wife, Barb won a few categories at this year's SRR.

I was thinking about getting some. But I think I might break down and get some Hepco Becker sidecases instead.

Hey Nancy - did you get some of these?? I'd like to see them. I use the Rok straps for pretty much everything because of the plastic and I don't want it to scratch - HOWEVER - just recently - they weren't long enough - I'm wondering if these would help. I'd like to see them in person.

No I didn't. Jim Cover was the guy who won the watch that Drew donated too (I think!) But he also found the radar detector and mailed it back to me. In the envelope, he included some info on his products. they really look good to me. We use the long straps from aerostich with plastic clips - the straps are adjustable. So far, they've served us well. I don't use 'em often, really just when I have camping crap on the bike. If I just have a box or something, I'm still a fan of the bungee net...

I carry a set of Helen2Wheels straps as well as some ROKs. They pack small and I can tie nearly anything to the bike with them. There are also "D-ring extenders" available to add 12" to the 60" straps when needed.

(A set of H2W straps and extenders would price about the same as the Piggybacks.)

No, they're high-grade plastic, but even so, I'm not sure how they might ever come close to the bike's finish. I've never had that concern in several years of using them.

(This URL will take you to a PDF showing Helen's how-to directions. You can see that the D-rings are out of harm's way.)

I like how this went from piggy back straps to touting Helen two wheels products.

I'm not touting brands. I have used H2W straps for 5 years, since well before this little Piggyback went to market, and I'm saying that having a set of long straps at the ready can be useful. Take your pick. Or use bungees, it's a free country.

I have a set of her stuff too. Just kind of wish I didn't after how I heard she wasn't such a lady at the SRR.
