The zipper pull snapped in half on the right sleeve of the Darien Jacket. I was going to send it back to Duluth, but Melody suggested a split ring.

Problem solved.

I repaired a zipper with a kit from Aerostich.

http://www.aerostich.com/aerosearch.php ... per+repair

It was easy to do. I my case, the entire top had pulled off the slider, so I couldn't do a simple repair such as Chris shows above.

The number of the zipper size is on the back of the slider and looks like "10V" or "5V".

OK George, so I should have looked in the catalog first. I ordered a zipper kit this afternoon. The ring works good, but it sticks out and I am afraid it will hang on something and rip the zipper out. :D

that's hot!

I have a paperclip on a zipper that I broke. Keep sayin' I'm gonna fix it, but it's probably been since November or so.

I've done the paperclips out of necessity, along with the 'rings'. Eventually the paperclips fail needing replacing, but the rings are still doing great on my boots. They aren't really in the way and they seem to be easier to grab than the original zipper pulls.

+1 for the rings!

cool chris... I used a zip tie as a zipper pull for about 4 years on my First Gear Kilimanjaro. Worked fine.

Hello Mike, good to hear from you!

If it was not for my beloved bride, I do not know whan I would do. It was her idea to use the split ring. :D

I got an e-mail reply back from Scott at Aerostich. They offered to replace the zipper for free, but I felt that it is normal wear and tear and besides the kit was only $4. Thay are a great company to deal with.
