Although it's technically NOT BBQ, Chap's Pit Beef in Baltimore was pretty good. While I lived in Baltimore in the early 1980s while going to grad school, my trip to Chap's last Saturday was the first time I'd ridden a motorcycle into towns. Worst roads I've been on since Basra in 2003. Dangerously bad. I've become a fan of Andy Nelson's in Cockeysville recently. I've ridden down there twice in the last month. (http://www.andynelsonsbbq.com/) It's not Wilber's, or Lexington #1, or the Skylight, but pretty good for north-of-the-James.

You mean Pierce's BBQ?

Riding up R219 and started seeing signs for this place, figured decent BBQ in northeast NY? But a nice pork aroma filled the air as I rode by and made a u-turn. Good pulled pork sandwich, had the junior size & it hit the spot, I should have asked where they get their rolls. Smokin Toms BBQ on RT 219 in Springville, NY

Anyone have an opinion on Virginia Barbeque in Manassass? I'm planning on riding Skyline Drive tomorrow and might make a detour there as I head back north on 15.

There's a new BBQ place that recently opened in Gordonsville, VA., right on mainstreet. Anyone tried it yet? I'll stop in the next time I'm through that area, maybe Sunday on my way home from a weekend in southwestern VA...

I know, I know....but it wasn't uppity, it was just a dark, sweet sauce. They had some awards hanging on the wall that said they won some sauce contests and the raspberry grillin' sauce was their signature sauce. When in Rome...

Their cornbread was good too. Perfect to put in a bowl of milk and eat with a spoon.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure what to think about that. I didn't try it, but, my wife did and loved it.
