I remember mom cooking minute steak every week, back in Iowa. And the sides of mashed potato/gravy and beans (green or lima and always canned) were traditional. How we kids stayed skinny is a mystery. Scott
ps - Thanks for stirring up the memory
You stayed skinny because when we were kids, we weren't allowed to camp out in front of the tv or computer allllll day long!!!! Come in and eat and then get back outside to play!!!
+1. So true. We'd bolt from the house right after breakfast and the only rule DH and I had was to be home before the street lights came on.
In the summertime, we'd come home, have dinner, then AFTER dark we'd spend a couple hours playing "flashlight" - a wide ranging game of hide and go seek where the seeker uses a flashlight to find/catch you.
