Road Dancing to the Tunes in my Head

(Well, via earplugs anyways) :D
Got a new rear tire on the SR last week and took the afternoon off to see how it handles.

2 hours and 60 miles turned into 3.5 hours and 130 miles, oh well (just makes you sick, don't it? NOT!)
within the first few miles I knew I was gonna like this tire. smooth corning, no "hump" to get over as you lean. The tread wraps around more than the stock tire, more side tread, more lean! :D The name says it all; Conti GO! ; and GO we did!

The bike is definitely Smoother, Faster and Shinier, no doubt about it. Every time I ride it I think it just can't get any better, then on the next ride, somehow, it Does! :D:D

Seriously though, I really like the way the tire handles and just convinces me again as i learned with my vintage bike, stick with the stock widths and ratio's. I figure the designers knew/know a lot more about the dynamics of the machine than I do so why try and second guess them?
Having gotten past the 100 mile mark I was able to really play with it during the last part of the ride, hit 80 (indicated) several times thru mild turns on some two lane roads with a clear, open view down the road (see the pano shot at the end of the pic's).
Very happy with it, worth the $120 I paid.

a few pics, it hit 53 and full sun all day, Yey!!!

Its a bit hard to tell from this hot but there is about 4 miles of clear, open road starting here, down a long slope then up a long rise, great place to open it up and know if anything is approaching from the front, rear or side well in advance, peaked out a bit shy of 90 (indicated) at the bottom of the hill.

I got a quick ride in western Montgomery county after work Clarksburg-Dickerson-Poolesville and back. Saw a nice sunset before heading back.

Its the upper middle section of Blantyre Road between Arlie Road (just north of Warrenton just off of Rt 17) north to Rt 55.

RM,

Nice pic's, which indicate that you had a really nice ride. And very thoughtful of the weather to cooperate!
