Instead of the MOA Rally a ride to upstate NY

Well it was a little hot and a little far to head to Missouri. I was trying to make it but ran out of time. George at Beemers Uber Alles provided some technical know how in order to get my windshield back in shape after that I headed for Clayton, NY. I figured I wanted to head North to get out of some of this heat, once I hit the Pennsylvania line the rain stopped and the clouds began to clear. I had looked up campgrounds along the St. Lawrence River and found Merry Knoll campground near Clayton, NY. Great place, friendly people. Great views of the sunset and the river.

Was out of there at 5:30 AM this morning and back home by 2:30 PM or so. Nice ride which was just a tad over 1,000 miles - about 1/2 of what the MOA rally would have been.

I love the Fingerlakes area, but haven't spent any time in upstate NY. Maybe next summer! Great idea for an alternative to Sedalia. I just got home from a long road trip myself, and am anxious to read through the Sedalia thread to see what people thought.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to
skydive twice.

Upstate NY is one of my faves, and I rode through part of it on my way to Sedalia (by way of Canada). I absolutely love the Adirondacks and Finger Lakes areas!
