Canaan in full color

Hey guys,
Just put 620 miles round-trip on a 4 day jaunt to Canaan Valley, Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls. The ride out via 70W to Frederick then down via 340 to 7 and west on Old and New 55 was really quite fun. The best part was the GPS sending us up a Fire Maintenance road over the Dolly Sod plateau - how cool was that! 2-up on a fire break and single lane dirt road. Saw 6 dual-sports riding about up there... it was fun.
The fall leaves are in full regala! It was spectacular. Wont' let me upload any pix - they're all too big - over 2mb ea...sorry. You're just going to have to ride there and enjoy!!
Smooth throttle and spirited twisties!

I've got to add Dolley Sods to my To Do list next time we're out that way.

Jody and I took a "shortcut" across there once (well, it looked short on the map), she on her R1100RS and I on my R1150RT. Except for the potholes, rocks, ruts and wash-outs ... wait a minute, there wasn't anything else besides potholes, rocks, ruts and wash-outs!

(IIRC, we did 18 miles of that. A very long 18 miles.)
2002 R1150RT, Silver
Silver, the "cool and aloof" color.
(Road & Track Vol. 56, No.2, p. 19)

1971 Triumph Bonneville, Gold
Gold, the "paying the restorer" color.
(Trust me.)

There was a maroon colored K-bike parked up there. Coming from Old 55 the road is not street bike friendly. It was doable 2-up on the GSA...
