Great NC and western VA ride this past weekend

Postby sati8d » Mon Sep 12, 2011 4:02 pm

What a fantastic weekend ride. Rode to Greensboro area to visit family Thurs afternoon and got caught in the tail of TS Lee. Friday after lunch, drove north to a B&B in Rocky Mount VA - wouldn't recommend it - although great riding area - real hilly and great vistas. Saturday was a fantastic ride from Roanoke along the Blue Ridge Pkwy up to Luray to a fantastic B&B - Once upon a Mountain. Sunday, after a leisure start, went up over the mountain on 211 - damn is that a FUN road!! even 2 up! probably a good thing she was aboard, cuz I would have tore up some pavement after my Total Control course a couple of weeks ago.... Came home around the beltway...that was no fun. All in all - 935 miles of smiles. My new Sargent seat isn't working out for me though. Wife likes hers.
This weekend pushed me over 12000-(s)mile mark in 5 months.

oh my! at this rate...can you say - happy camper! boys and girls!
Smooth throttle and spirited twisties!

Another satisfied customer  We have occasional 2-up students in class. This year one pair from Massachusetts was on an RT, and a local couple known to club members were on a spankin' new K16GTL. I'm sure we've had a few others, but those were in classes to which I was assigned. Scott

Tony,

Definitely sounds like a thoroughly enjoyable ride--and thanks for the tip on the B & B.

And 12,000 miles in 5 months? Not bad! =D>
