Here's the latest on Martha.

She went back to the orthopedic doc and everything is healing up nicely. She will start some PT on her shoulder next week. It looks more like a bruise than a torn rotator cuff.

She goes back on the 16th and he said if it continues to heal he will probably put her in a brace rather than the boot. Hopefully she'll be able to drive. She has been working some but we have to find someone to deliver her and pick her up. Neighbors are great.

Right now I am chaufeur, cook, maid, shopper, laundry man, nurse, and shower helper, well that last one doesn't sound so bad now does it. 8)

I need a life.

Just saw this thread. Wow - glad you're OK and Martha is healing. That was a scary story.

I am still trying to figure out the grammatical use of * rider is down * when referring to oneself? :-k

That would have been "rider's down".

That not correct. Rider's ( with apostrophe) is showing that a rider has a *down*. Which is wrong. Riders (without ' ) is plural. How many riders are down? lol

I mean when a writer refers to himself as *riders*, intending to say that a rider ( meaning himself ) had fallen, what is the grammatical use? When a writers refers to himself, not another rider that has crashed. I do believe the correct way would be something like.... "I went down, but i am basically OK".

Is Riders down a reference in the 2nd or 3rd person? I don't know :? What is Moz referring to himself as *riders*? Can that grammatically be correct?

Comon Chiba, let's hear it :D

Bzzzzt, incomplete answer.
The use of rider's could also be shorthand for rider is.
I did almost say your answer was wrong, but nope...Blaster is correct. #-o

Why isn't Martha considered a rider? Two riders down. Bryant is okay. Martha is basically okay.

Well....duh. I don't have a better answer than that.

You're right, Rick. Mikey thought this was Moz's thread. But Moz did the same thing - refer to himself in the third person.
