That sounds pretty cool guys, hope your FD's hold together.

On another note, I see that you've neglected to pack any alcohol, is that something you forgot?

Thanks,

Can we have a picture of the bikes loaded?

Actually, the plan is to have nothing extra strapped to the bikes. We want it al fit in the hard cases!

Thanks everyone, it should be fun, and we hope to have regular updates!

Jim & Kermit,

+1 regarding Paul's comment!

Seriously, have a super time, be safe and adventurous, and err on the side of posting too many pictures. We're all insanely jealous.

I know you're old pros but I hope you tested your gears before you leave. If you need any replacement Gerbing items, let us know.

they tried out the "Spot" thing last night. That's really cool to get a text message that says "everything's going good". I liked that. For the price, that Spot is really neat. If I continue to do more solo riding, I may get that too.

yes they did. There's nothing on there yet but there will be tracks that update every 10 minutes I THINK! You're right - I THOUGHT they said it was like $50/year or something silly like that!

I like that it send "ok" "need help" and "911" messages if necessary with the lat/long numbers attached. It's very cool!!!

I think an OK turns off tracking when it's on. You need to wait a while after sending a OK to start the tracking too. If you don't hold OK long enough (10 secs seem to work for me) it will just send an OK vs track. Other thing to remember is it automatically quits tracking after X (i think 24) hours.

Is there a way we can all follow their progress online or is that impossible?

Yes you can and we're working on that now. It should all come together tomorrow some time.

p.s. I am loving that G9. Thanks for the info.
