2020 Ride Contest

Everybody loves Ice Cream. This years ride contest is to find out who is the biggest fan of ice cream/frozen custard.

Objective: Visit as many Ice Creameries/Frozen Custard Shops

Contest Window: 1 April - 31 October

Constraints:
- Ice Creameries in your county do not count, i.e., Ice Creameries in Fairfax County cannot be counted by Fairfax County residents; DC residents cannot count Ice creameries in DC, etc.
- Ben and Jerry’s, Baskin and Robbins and Coldstone Shops do not count

Registration: Name; Home Base Town/County (i.e., Vienna/Fairfax); Phone; email

Send registration info to: Ride Committee (iridertp@gmail.com)

Upon registration you will be provided a Contestant Number

Documentation of each visit: Name of Ice Creamery, Address, Date of Visit, Photo (must include you, the ice cream you bought, your Contestant Number, and the Store in the background). Submit documentation to the Ride Committee.

Prizes: First, second and third place for the most places visited*#.


Bonus points for additional contestants in a photo. Four contestant in a photo, each contestant gets four points.
# Only one visit per Ice Creamery. Multiple visits do not count.

Just a reminder that the 2020 Ride Contest ends this Saturday 31 October. Anyone with proof of an Ice Cream visit needs to Submit proof by 31 October.

With 2020 finally coming to an end, here are the results of the 2020 Ride Contest. I don’t know if there was a lack of interest or if COVID-19 kept people from participating, but there were only three riders that registered to participate.

Bruce Dimon visited three ice creameries with a fellow participant for 6 points.

Ed Pfister visited one ice creamery with a fellow participant for 2 points.

Jose Abiles visited four ice creameries with a fellow participant for 8 points.

And the winners are:

First Place - Bruce Dimon; he will receive a $20 gift card from Dairy Queen

Second Place - Ed Pfister; he will receive a $15 gift card from Ben & Jerry’s

Jose Abiles - as the organizer, he is ineligible for a prize
