Annual Rides Feedback

Postby jcabiles » Sun Dec 29, 2019 10:20 pm

The Rides Committee would like your feedback on last years rides; what did you like, what did you not like, what would you like repeated or done similarly.

Also what would your like to see in 2020?

As a newbie to the BMWBMW organization, I wanted to pass along my comments and suggestions.

The Summer of 2019 was my first year riding with the organization. I believe I rode 4 or 5 rides during the season. Overall, I was impressed with each ride's preparation and leaders. I liked the meet-and-greet beforehand, along with ride directions and plan. I know some even had the ability to download the GPS files too.

I would enjoy participating as a volunteer on the Ride Committee when and where ever they meet.

For next Summer, it would be great if we can expand the list of group rides. We could create a repository or group ride package, to both help a new leader (with a pre-planned ride), and to establish common rides the organization likes to do.

Other group rides to consider are day, over-night, and weekend (camp or hotel) rides. This would expand the riding area for the organization.

In addition, since there are a fair amount of dual-sport bikers in the organization, why not consider road-only, road+off-road, and off-road rides, whether one day or more?

Does BMWBMW have relationships with other MC organizations? Could we do a meet-up or shared ride with other orgs?

Possible destinations for 2020 include:
- Antietam National Battlefield MD
- Catoctin Mountains, MD
- Shepherdstown, WV
- Flying Circus Airshow, Bealeton VA
- Maryland or Virginia Covered Bridge Tour
- Gettysburg Trip, PA
- PA Grand Canyon, PA
- AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, OH
- Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum, NC
- Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water House, PA

I hope this feedback is helpful. Cheers.

Mark, Appreciate the feedback.

How about we get together some weekend and hash out some ideas; breakfast, lunch or happy hour.

Jose - your doing a great job with the rides! Regretfully, I only made it to one or two. I'm not the only one that appreciates the time you spend and the attention to detail! Thanks and keep it up!
