Spirited rides are good too. We all have to gas up at some point! :D

Mixed speed and skills are not a good *mix* The spirited ones may(will) get frustrated at the less than spirited ones and the less than spirited ones get anxious at wanting to keep up and go above their riding ability to do so.

How do you know where you fit in? What defines Spirited?

If you commence "agricultural touring" you are not Spirited.

Spirited is exceeding maximum posed speed limit of course! :) I just think it all comes down to who you have been riding with and the trust that has been built up.

Of course, "spirited" can also mean testing your pucker factor in the turns.

This ride has become a bit of a back-burner for me since the calendar has become a bit filled up and I'm WAY behind on getting the Gixxer prepped for the Pridmore class in July. However, my brother and I are still planning on meeting this August to ride around Tennessee and I may try to make the ride over a SS1000 event since Little Rock, AR is 1001 miles from my house according to Mapquest. I'm thinking a 500-miler might still be a good train-up ride if anyone's interested in coming along.

Second, it was not MY intention to turn my ride down there into in an endurance event. I want to take my time and ride within MY limits, and that includes how much time I spend on the saddle on any given day.

I had a nice, over 500 mile ride this weekend, I'm good.

Yeah, I'm eating a bit of crow on that one. But I've had time to discuss the idea of an SS1000 with lionlady and guitardad during SRR and it doesn't seem to be that much of a stretch now. And your ride with Tina also provided some incentive.

BTW, I wouldn't want to call anyone here un American. The thread about my brother just took a different twist than I expected when people started suggesting the SS1000 concept when I intended to recognize my brother's service. No worries.
